Cruising through Bedford, New York

A Scenic Drive through Bedford Village, NY: A quick visit left me wanting more

Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Westchester County, New York, Bedford Village showcases a delightful journey through time. As I drove through this charming village and its surrounding areas, I was captivated by the enchanting homes that grace the streets. In this blog post, I wanted to share my short but lovely experience through Bedford Village, discovering the architectural treasures that make this area so special.

heading out with baby in tow!

Driving through Bedford Village feels like stepping into a bygone era. The village exudes a timeless charm, with tree-lined streets, historic landmarks, and well-preserved homes. As I navigated the winding roads, I encountered a variety of architectural styles, including Colonial, Federal, and Victorian, each contributing to the unique character of the area. Just so stunning & perfect.

The homes in Bedford Village are like scenes from a storybook. Immaculate gardens, white picket fences, and classic facades create a picture-perfect setting. The well-manicured lawns and carefully restored exteriors showcase the pride and commitment of the residents to preserving the area's rich heritage. Rolling hills, horse farms, picture perfect farm houses.

The diversity of architectural styles in Bedford Village is a treat for design enthusiasts. From stately Georgian Colonials to quaint Cape Cods, each home tells its own tale. I personally have a Cape House from the 30s and each one I drove past here I had to make a mental pinterest note. The blend of historical authenticity and modern updates created an appealing juxtaposition, making every turn an opportunity for awed appreciation.

As I drove through Bedford Village, I pulled over just to take a picture of the one room Bedford Schoolhouse. This was EVERYTHING to me. I’ve been trying to find the right image of what I want the addition to my house to look like (it was built in the 90s, so it feels off BUT I’ve been wanting to clad it in stone) and this school house was the PERFECT example, just darling and classic. PERFECTION.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

The beauty surrounding Bedford Village was on another level. For reference, I live in The Hamptons an am surrounding by beautiful landscape , but Bedford just hit differently... Maybe this drive just had the perfect rolling hills, sprawling meadows, and picturesque countryside that felt like a storybook and took e to a tranquil atmosphere that felt far removed from the hustle and bustle of the summer scene where I live. I caught myself with my jaw literally open in awe.

I highly recommend a trip even if its just a drive. I bet the fall there is BEYOND stunning too. Driving through Bedford Village and its surrounding homes is an unforgettable experience that immerses you in history, beauty, and a sense of community. The charming architecture, well-preserved exteriors, and scenic surroundings create a captivating journey that transports you to a simpler, more idyllic time. Whether you're a local resident or a visitor, take the time to explore this enchanting village and appreciate the architectural treasures that make Bedford Village a truly special destination. Luckily my dear friends just moved there so I’ll be back throughout the seasons so that I can explore more!
