Reimagining Petite Wingback Chairs: A Velvet Transformation

In the ever-changing world of interior design, a piece of furniture often serves as more than a functional item—it becomes a narrative device, a storyteller, a mood-setter. So, when I discovered a pair of forlorn petite wingback chairs, sitting faded but stately, I immediately recognized their untapped potential. This isn't just a reupholstering project; it's a narrative of revival, of giving beauty a second chance to shine. There's magic in reupholstery—the way worn-out furniture can go from drab to fab with just a bit of fabric and a vision. Today, I'm sharing a simple yet stunning transformation of a pair of petite wingback chairs.

Before: Tired & Dated

What a sad little pair of chairs. Most might have thought this pair of chairs where on their last leg… I however, saw the sweet little Queen Anne Style legs and was also drawn to their petite & comfortable nature. With a little dreaming, some new fabric & TLC these chairs would be nothing short of fabulous.

After: A Velvet Dream

Fast forward to a luxurious velvet upgrade. Not just any velvet, mind you. This fabric is a rare find—discontinued now… But I was carrying a swatch of this beloved Clarence house velvet for years. Only to find that when I went to order it had been discontinued. After some digging, several calls & emails, I tracked down the last remaining bolts. I purchased every last yard. This green but not green (it has blue & green threads!) velvet was used for these chairs to remade the most lovely little pair. I’m obsessed.
